BRUCE LEE'S 'JEET KUNE DO' HAS ARRIVED

We are delighted to inform you that Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kun Do is coming back to Rob Locks Academy. Chief Instructor Rob Lock who is qualified under the awesome Dan Inosanto is re launching Jeet Kune Do (JKD) after a ten year break. Rob is excited to once again be coaching this awesome Martial Art  with the assistance of JKD Black belt Ian Shearwood. Classes commence on Tuesday 21st January.
The class times will be Tuesday 7.30-8.30pm and Thursday 7.30-8.30pm at the Brier School Kingswinford. All Members and non Members are offered a free trial lesson. The best news is that any member on the unlimted package will pay no extra for this additonal Martial Art class.
The JKD Classes will be replacing the MMA and ESKRIMA classes as JKD incorporates those Martial Arts in the classes.
What is Jeet Kune Do ?   Jeet Kune Do practitioners believe in minimal movement with maximum effect and extreme speed. The system works on the use of different ‘tools’ for different situations. These situations are broken down into ranges (kicking, punching, trapping and grappling), with techniques flowing smoothly between them. It is referred to as a “style without style” or “the art of fighting without fighting” as said by Lee himself. Unlike more traditional martial arts, Jeet Kune Do is not fixed or patterned, and is a philosophy with guiding thoughts. It was named for the concept of interception, or attacking your opponent while he is about to attack.
